That Photo...

I'm really worn out, partly because of the emotion, I suspect. I have uploaded a selection of my photos to Flickr, and you can see them in the Papal Visit Day 2 set.

Papal Visit Day 2_0035

As I explained in my last post, I was yelling "We love you, Holy Father!" and waving my papal flag (not easy on crutches) when Pope Benedict looked at me and smiled and waved. Definite eye contact. It was only after that that I raised my camera for a photo - unfortunately the popemobile was going at a pretty brisk pace, but you can still see how close I was...

And I couldn't resist cropping the photo to show Il Papa, up close and personal (apart from the bullet-proof glass, that is...)

I am now going to go to bed... tomorrow is another busy day...

Well, you may not have caught the Holy Father looking directly at you, but you seem to have got Abp. Vin!

Woo Hoo! I know how you feel. I was that close to John Paul II in Paris - 1997. It is an incredible experience. I am so happy for you.

You're pretty cool Mac. But, where I was there were quite a few protesting protestants (oh what's in a name!)

That was OK and fun in its own way, but I'm looking forward to this afternoon when hopefully it will be a bit more a relaxed atmosphere.

I have a new blog
