Time For A Cat Post...

I'm a little worried about Sylvester... he's been incredibly "needy" of late, which is most unlike him. Normally, he's happy to check that I'm around, demand food (frequently) and then find a nice, comfortable spot in which to settle.

At the moment, he's perched on a chair behind me, looking at the computer screen. When I get up, he'll follow me, walking just close enough to make me worry about stepping on him... (well, ok, I'll be honest... tripping over him!) And later, when I go to bed, he'll come and sleep next to my pillow, after having head-butted me a few times. That's definitely not his normal behaviour. Generally, he prefers the middle of the bed... and as much of it as he can commandeer!

Watch this space...

Perhaps he's heard that +Roche is going to get Westminster and expects you to do something about it since you've never let him down yet.

How old is the chap? My cat became much more 'clingy' as she got older, along with that annoying thing of walking just in front of one at her pace. She'll often get quite vocal and demanding of attention if I am chatting for too long on the telephone.
Mysterious felines!

Sylvester is at least 14 years old, possibly 15 (I inherited him 11 years ago)

I'm a little concerned because one of my mother's moggies became very attentive shortly before she died...

Maybe he needs to go to the vet for a checkup and possibly some elderly cat vitamins.

Oh dear,

Now I know his age, I can understand your worry. Oh yes do take him to the vet.

Oh, dear. By all means, take him to the vet. But for what it's worth, I've noticed that quite a lot of cats (how does one pronounce "moggies"?) become more affectionate as they get older, and certainly by Sylvester's age.

We had a cat who lived to be almost 20, who became much more cuddly and friendly at about Sylvester's age. It needn't be an imminent-death sort of thing...take hope in that...
