Ok, let's see who answers this one. I'm starting to give some thought to the picture I want to use for the front of the Thank-You card we distribute to priests at the Chrism Mass at St. George's Cathedral, Southwark. The pictures show the last two years' illustrations:
I'm toying with the idea of using this one. Any other suggestions/comments?

What a lovely gesture. The last time I went to a Chrism Mass we were greeted with protesters who were wearing purple 'stoles' and demanding the ordination of women. I'm afraid that I found it to be the lowlight of Holy Week. Subjected to the poor standard of liturgy/music/preaching on this occasion I always have a convenient funeral on the appointed day.
Yes, Anonymous, it was the bunch of weird women spoiling such an important day for priests that made me and my friends decide to stage our anti-demo...
Each year the number of the weird sisters outside our Cathedral has reduced - we figure that they're probably dying off. That's ok - we're younger (and prettier)
...but there's not a lot we can do about the music... or the preaching!!
what about the icon of our lady of the new advent...i think it can be found via the archdiocese of denver's site: www.archden.org. the image you suggest is lovely, but some might regard it as schmaltzy - as a women said to me yesterday after mass.. why do priests wear all the old stuff...it shouldn't happen these days...my reply...you're telling the wrong man, dear lady. tradition, big t and small t are important...oh the joy of it all.
Dear Mac, this is a really lovely idea. And there can be no doubt that the picture of our Lady, Regina Cleri, is the one to use. I recognized it immediately as the image over the Lady Altar in St John's Seminary, where the majority of priests in your and my diocese trained. I think it would be recognized immediately and mean a lot.
I used the Regina Cleri picture two years ago. So I need something else this year...
Come on pastor - keep up! You have to read the text as well as look at the pictures you know.
But seriously, maybe we could adopt the idea where I am, do you get any funding for it?
FUNDING?? *doubles up in fits of laughter*
Don't be silly. We have to stand outside the Cathedral grounds (just outside the gates)in case we upset the women's ordination group who might demand the same access rights as us! Though how a heretical group can demand "access" rather puzzles me!
So how do you pay for the printing of the cards?
Do you stand outside the gates of the Catherdral grounds and hand the cards out before or after the event?
For the first few years I printed them myself directly from my PC. Last year I printed off a sheet of the originals, and then had them photocopied... and then I sat down and cut them up. I paid for it myself, it isn't expensive.
