Sylvester

Stephen Swikner over at CSSML asked to see Sylvester...

...and I'm happy to oblige:

Stephen's blog is worth a visit - I particularly liked his beautiful shot of Ely Cathedral (of which he is the Bursar) in the snow - and although his profile proclaims that he's had a presence on Blogger since November 2006, his earliest post is actually one on the Ely Madonna. At the risk of souring ecumenical blogging relations, I have to confess that I find the statue to be hideous...

Simon-Peter has outed a Sylvester imposter who is also doing weird things to computers... You can find them HERE. The music is a little trying (after a while).... oh, for some Gregorian Chant!

Ah, yes, well the current selection is for those Catholics who would feel more comfortable at a witches sabbat, which is what the Mussorgsky is trying to represent.

Bach is next I think.

I was going to say "awwww... cute!", but I remember I was cautioned against this before! ;-)

Believe me, Mark, there's nothing cute about a cat. Those I know - and I know a good number - are ruthless and wholly unscrupulous killing machines as any cat owner confirm.

Thanks, Mac, for introducing your very handsome live in companion and, no doubt, self-appointed culler of local wild life. To return the compliment, here are my two: Harry and Boots, terrorisers (to my certain knowledge) of birds, mice, voles, frogs and rabbits.

He does keep trying to teach me how to catch mice... live specimens are presented for me to practice with!

Actually, checking the photos, I think Sylvester is looking a little thin... he must have been on hunger strike in my absence!

I was once told that the Ely Madonna is known to some as 'Charlie Dymock'!
