Trepidation...

My next-door neighbour, the one who does the cat-sitting for me, caught me on the way back from Mass this morning. Apparently she has been watching the cats from her window each day - her flat looks out onto the back garden.

She has seen Miaowrini stalking the pigeons.

My neighbour also warned me that trouble is brewing. Furretti was up a tree the other day... and she very nearly caught a squirrel...

I dread to think of the state of my flat if she actually succeeds in bringing one home...

c'mon Mac, wouldn't it be nice to have your very own pet squirrel? Plut do you really think that Msgr Furreti could actually kill one of the Rats with good PR? squirrels remember God gave squirrels teeth and claws.

Or the state of the squirrel, come to that...

Pigeon pie and casserole of squirrel should set you up for the week. A nice bit of blood will thicken up the gravy.

You just need to teach them to bring home some fish on Friday and you'll be sorted!

A poor old squirrel is no match for a determined cat on the hunt. One of our cats found them much more of a challenge than birds and mice, and like every self respecting cat he couldn't resist. I'll spare you the details but we had a squirrel grave yard behind the evergreens in the corner of our garden.
