Feedback...

I've put a little poll in the sidebar, as I'm interested to discover whether or not I do too many cat-related posts, according to my readers, that is....

The poll is open until 6 May.

You mean this blog isn't about cats????? Heh, heh!

Having just 'adopted' a new, almost a year old, kitty after the death my last feline companion of 17 years, I have just used the Mac method of catflap training - and it works! Your kitty posts can be very helpful to clerical cat keepers who are rusty on young cat stuff....

Now how about a method for deterring her from playing with the tassels on my fascia and attempting to eat the pompom on my biretta? Σ:-

Richard - it's perfectly true that this blog is becoming more and more cat-o-lick as we go on...

Ecumenical Diablogger - I never said that I'd follow the view, I'm just curious as to what it is...
;-p

Fr - delighted to hear that you have trained your cat, and even more delighted that I was of some help.

As for playing with tassles, I find that a "Noooo!" - said gently but firmly (with a long "oh!" sound) at the same time as placing a finger on the cat's nose (not tapping, just touching gently on the triangular bit) is enough to discourage the behaviour. They soon learn what "No" means, though they often ignore it.

I discovered this when trying to wean the kittens off chasing my tights as I unravelled them prior to putting them on in the morning!

I think you're on a losing wicket with the pompom...

I bet if you interspersed your posts with football or cars instead of the terrible two there'd be no rolling of eyes - and no need for a vote!

The vote is surely consultative rather than determinative. If Madamoiselle Mac doesn't like the result she can (to paraphrase Brecht) just dissolve commentariat and elect another! Anyway as a cat-unfriendly individual I quite like the posts, even though I can take or leave the actual felines themselves.

I think it is an excellent idea to consult the Readership. This is "Active Participation" in Action !!! Once the Poll results are known, you can formulate some Committees and then, when they meet, they can break up into small groups and discuss issues. The Cats' Protection League can be the final Arbiters.

Genty - in view of the kitties' trad leanings (as evinced by their treatment of The Catholic Times and The Suppository) I suspect that, to keep everyone happy, I shall have to teach them how to play cricket...
