I've had a very busy week, and I've been feeling under the weather and out of sorts all week, culminating in a very unpleasant day today.
Just how under the weather and out of sorts can be calculated (if you know me well) by the fact that I had a lovely chocolate bar with which to celebrate the Feast of St. Joseph, and I was unable and unwilling to do anything more than stare at it.
Another indicator of my physical state (but only for those who know me really well) is that I actually drove home on Friday night with my car windows open because I felt too hot. Those who don't know me well might understand that last statement a little when I explain that I wore rollneck jumpers all through the summer last year, with a jacket on top, and my one concession on really warm days (there were not many) was not to wear a t-shirt under the jumper as well.
What made today so very unpleasant is not suitable blogging material, so I shall draw a discreet veil over it...

Sorry to hear you've been unwell - I did wonder. Hope you're on the mend. It's going to be a nice day today - time to ditch the thermals!
So sorry that you've had a bad week. Whatever it is, I hope you get over it quickly. Best Wishes and Prayers.
Mac;
not good to hear you've been bad; I'd thought perhaps the reason for your comparative silence was because OFSTED had appeared !
Many Prayers, of course : and console yourself about S. Joseph by enjoying the choccie bar on Thursday.
Prayers for your recovery.
Thanks for your helpful comments on my recent post. I'm learning all the time! :o)
Dear Mac. So sorry to hear you are "One Degree Under". Rest, Recuperation, Relish the chocolate bar. That's the cure, I suggest. I know the sort of week you've had. Be assured, it gets better as the sun shines longer. Happy Spring. It's so pleasing to read how many good and faithful Blog Readers you have. I respectfully suggest you consider sending them all a nice slab of chocolate !!! (I like fruit and nut).
Geez, had that chocolate bar and no energy to unwrap it? Honey, get thee to an outpatient clinic.
About those hot flashes: if you have those little plastic thingies that freeze that you can put in your lunch box to keep cold stuff cold, they work well on you forhead and the back of your neck. You can also put one between your (can the gentlemen please cover their eyes for next line?)
breasts, or underneath each breast and armpit if you have enough. Your open mouth colleagues, if you are at work, will be a little too stunned to say anything. The men will think they are seeing a vision and it will be some minutes before they can shake their heads to snap out of it, thinking they must have dreamt it, while the women will silently nod their heads in sisterly solidarity. Even the most wizend old crone. [For some reason "wizend" doesn't look right, but you know what I mean.]
Hope you feel better soon.
Oh, my Lord, Karen... you'll be the death of me... I nearly snorted my cup of tea all over my computer.
It certainly cheered me up.
I am, however, gibbering in a corner, crying with laughter, so blogging might be sparse, as I don't think the local asylum has internet access.
And "wizend" doesn't look right because it's wizened... but I did know what you meant!!
I pray that you feel better. Good to know that you have not given up blogging... I have only started reading your blog. Hope this week is better.
Mac, glad I gave you a laugh. I am going to need those myself soon, because if I had the wherewithal all to march on Washington I'd be plenty hot, and I'll be the raging red naked American woman with ice packs anywhere she can fit them ready to throw those bums (can I say "bums" on a British blog without that being taken the wrong way?) right out of their offices by force. I'll be the Yankee equivalent of those Scotsman who fought naked and painted themselves blue. I think they probably won those battles because their opponents dropped their weapons in order to grab their cameras.
No, please, don't give up blogging, for whatever reason! ...
and, wait, Spring's round the corner ... at least here in Italy :)
It's a time of year that always cheers me up!
gemoftheocean - you made ME laugh uncontrollably, too! If you march on Washington, I'll paint myself blue and march with you. Told my students today that they may well see me being arrested in D.C. during a 60's-style sit-in, in revolt against the "healthcare" bill and taxation without representation (or is it "taxation without INTELLIGENT and MORAL representation"?) Rosemary in Missouri
And Mac, I'll pray for you to feel fit again. Shall I pray that your craving for chocolate returns? :)
