Our Saviour Arrives...

As I have mentioned before, this is, for me, the most heart-stopping moment of the whole Mass, and especially at Midnight Mass. Now, in the silent watches of the night, the Word is made flesh, and He consents to dwell with us, in all the tabernacles in all the churches in the world...

You say it all, Mac; the mystery of our Faith encapsulated in an eternal moment.

I used to have a Parish Priest who omitted the last verse of 'Adeste Fideles' at the Offertory of Midnight Mass, and then (quite improperly) had it sung after the Acclamation; and that was, I must admit, a complete tear-jerker for me . . . year after year. What more, after all, is there to say.

God Bless you, Mac, on this Christmas Day : you were in my prayers at Benediction this afternoon.
