I did manage to get a photo of the chalice on the altar before everything kicked off, and I cropped it so the chalice could be seen more clearly...

"Truly, it is the indescribable sweetness of contemplation which you give to those who love you. In this you have shown the tenderness of your charity, that when I had no being you made me; and when I strayed away from you, you brought me back again to serve you and commanded me to love you." The Imitation of Christ

Looks like a beautiful chalice - a well-deserved jubilee gift. I'm only too envious I can't join you all at Blackfen for Mass tomorrow.
Thanks for the photos!
Now had you been able to SERVE that Mass....
[....you would have seen it, but had no picture! :-D ]
Nice chalice, it reminds me very much of the Sainted Fr. S.'s chalice...now 55+ years old. The Chalice, not Fr. S.
What a beautiful occasion it was. I had never been to a blessing of a Chalice and made sure we all stayed for it.
If you had asked one of my sons they would have got a good photo
:-)
Carl, neither of your sons is tall enough to reach...
;-P
