I don't agree. Part of the fun in blogging is being discovered by others, and getting comments is just so coool. It's especially gratifying when the first comment from someone other than a friend arrives... because there is always the sneaking suspicion that friends are being "kind."
It is also really great to find out what a person's raison de bloggeur is (ok, ok, I made that phrase up!) and to watch how the blog develops.
With that in mind, allow me to introduce Fiorella's new blog, engagingly titled "Monstrous Regiment of Women." As a journalist, the author of two successful novels (with number 3 just awaiting a publisher) and pro-life activist for SPUC, you just know that she's going to put up some really thought-provoking stuff. She's also the mother of two adorable little imps!
Pop on over and say hallo!

Wilco. I agree. I really appreciated it when I finally decided to start a blog of my own that both you and Jackie noticed it without me having to say anythng! (You liked my "Caskets and more" photo I took in Wichita last year!)
Ride with the tide and go with the flow. [Unless it's liberal "lets make hosts out of tortilla" dreck!]
Maybe you could give that In the Sight of Angels blog a wee mention too?
It is great news that Fiorella now has a blog!
We'll be looking forward to reading her insights as they come.
God Bless

Totally agree with you. Blogging is not a closed shop - no one needs to prove themselves to anyone.
Raison de bloggeur. Good phrase on the run. But probably "Raison de blogger" or "Raison de blog" is better. Just thinking out loud--on the run.
I've been to see Fiorella and I've done my homework, Miss. Can I go and play now?
Phew, so glad I'm not the only one who feels like that!
I had no idea that some long-established bloggers felt like that about newcomers and my first reaction was, 'thank goodness I've decided not to 'go public' with my blog - I'd never earn the approval, I'm sure!'
I enjoy blogging and also enjoy the freedom to post about whatever takes my fancy at any particular time. My blog is mainly for and about family and friends and, as such, would be of little interest to anyone else. I am a practising Catholic but most of my posts don't relate to my Catholic faith but some do. Sorry, I've gone on a bit.
Thanks Mac! See you Saturday!
