"Truly, it is the indescribable sweetness of contemplation which you give to those who love you. In this you have shown the tenderness of your charity, that when I had no being you made me; and when I strayed away from you, you brought me back again to serve you and commanded me to love you." The Imitation of Christ

Bored...!
I don't know when the USA hold their presidential elections. Not soon enough... I'm bored with it already. (Actually I got bored with it some time ago...)
The funny part is that you're not even American and live all the way in the UK... We Yanks get sick of it too, but most of us develop a resistance to democracy and tune it out after a while and tune back in only on Election Day (1st Tuesday after Nov. 1). It's the only thing that keeps us sane.
Nov 6th -- thank you for reminding me I need to register NOW to make sure my absentee ballot is sent here. I can't wait to throw the ******* out who is occupying MY White House. He's fired.
And it all starts up again in two years as potential candidates start taking family vacations in Iowa and New Hampshire (the first two States to vote for delegates to the party conventions): running or President is a full-time job that starts two years before the election. I just wish there were some way they both could lose!

Heheheh... unfortunately, quite a lot of my favourite blogs are American. Oh well, only two more months!!!
Election year is one more reason I'm glad I ditched cable.

Hey, I am from Iowa where politics is our state sport. Fun and games at the grass roots level and boring at the convention level.
