"Truly, it is the indescribable sweetness of contemplation which you give to those who love you. In this you have shown the tenderness of your charity, that when I had no being you made me; and when I strayed away from you, you brought me back again to serve you and commanded me to love you." Just A Little Reminder...
...why I love Chemistry so much!
Twitch of the mantilla to Fr. Erik for reminding me about this brilliant series...
Oh the joys of chemistry! Sadly we only got to play with Sodium and Pottasium Mac. In my day I don't think Rubidium had been added to the Periodic Table! As for Caesium - Wow!
Mind you we did produce many a nasty smelling concoction during our A-Level chem practical classes. Producing ether was also fun - especially when the end of the delivery tube was stuck up a classmates nostrils!
I remember our Chemistry master fondly. Mr Baig - a Pakistani Moslem (teaching in a Catholic Grammar school in 1971!). We spent many lessons trying to convert our chemistry master to the Catholic Faith. He didn't last too long in that environment - it was probably the ether that got to him!

Methane gas and soap bubbles, with a candle at the end of a stick...exploding bubbles - all fond memories of undergraduate chemsitry.
Heisenberg may have slept here....
Yes, we do that one (as a teacher demo) which means I get to have ALL the fun!
