Very true, very true.
It reminded me of something that happened to me during my recent visit to Jerusalem. The Assumpionist Church of St Peter Galicantu was built (in the 1930s)over an earlier Byzantine church which in turn was built over the traditional site of Caiaphas' house. It was a brilliant sunny morning and I did the tourist round of this very lovely building. As I was walking up the hill to the main road a cock crew. It was not the only place I left that week with tears streaming down my face.
