Something To Ponder...

After an exhaustive review of the research literature, here's the final word on nutrition and health:

1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than us.
2. Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than us.
3. The Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than us.
4. Italians drink excessive amounts of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than us.
5. Germans drink beer and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than us.
6. The French eat foie-gras and full fat cheese and drink red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than us.

CONCLUSION:
Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

  3. Brilliant, I am tired of being told what I should and shouldn't eat, feed my children and buy in the shops. Half the world is dying from starvation and we are arguing whether organic food is proven to be healthier for us.
Hey, when your time is up, it is up.
So the moral of the story is let's improve the weather in England, sunshine is good for your health and its the miserable summers that are killing us, and as you rightly say Mac, DO NOT SPEAK ENGLISH - but the children only speak the dialect of texting?

  7. Hey Mac, I know you were part serious and part joking but I think this is a very important topic. Here's my layman's view which I live by. 1st I eat lots of animal fats. I also keep a glass of wine on the kitchen counter during the day so I can take a sip morning and night and after every meal. Now for the bad stuff. Mind you it's just my opinion. But it fits with what you said: one thing that we english speaking people consume more than any other people I know is MILK. And I avoid it like the plague. Doesn't matter--1%,2% or 4%--I avoid it. I don't think pasteurization nor homiginization is any good for any body. Again just my opinion. But I'm in great health and never see a doctor. "knock on wood".
