Even More Busy...

Still very busy at work. But being a Science teacher has a few perks... such as the opportunity to gross out the children. I will be doing this one (for real) with my Year 8s - they're about 12-13 years old - which should prove entertaining...

  1. I dissected a crayfish and an earthworm at that age. In my freshman Pre-IB Biology class-at 14- I got to dissect a fetal pig, and had a blast doing it.

  2. We did eyeballs at that age and had great fun squeezing them till the lens popped out, which wasn't the idea at all. We dissected lungs and hearts as well (without gloves in them thar days).
I don't think I could do it now.

  3. I was so keen on biology that I was allowed to dissect a rat as a showpiece for Open Day. I was allowed into the prep room with the technicians... quite a privilege.
