"Truly, it is the indescribable sweetness of contemplation which you give to those who love you. In this you have shown the tenderness of your charity, that when I had no being you made me; and when I strayed away from you, you brought me back again to serve you and commanded me to love you." Start As You Mean To Go On...
After showing photos of what I considered to be the best possible way to see out the old year, I thought I'd post a couple of photos showing the best way to usher in the new one...
Before Mass, Fr. Tim led us in singing the Veni, Creator Spiritus...
And then we had Mass...
And then we had Exposition (followed by Benediction at the end of the Holy Hour.)
Alas, we are losing our TLM: the good priest who offers it is being transferred. This TLM was 50 miles away; now there will not be one within 300 miles. Very few people attended (though quite a few promised to do so), so it will be exceedingly difficult to get it anywhere else. Pray for our efforts to get it back!
Besides which, Father is a true shepherd, complete with rod and staff (and he isn't afraid to use them); and is also a character and a half. We will miss him.

That's a huge shame, Anita. I'm sorry to hear that and pray that somehow you'll be able to attend a usus antiquor Mass in your area soon!
