Uh-Oh...

I went to Bluewater this afternoon. I walked right past the Krispy Kreme Doughnut shop. And then I turned round and walked in...

...they have a "new" doughnut: the chocolate dreamcake.

Well, I just had to try one, just in the interests of blogdom... I mean, you want to know what it tasted like, right?

I'll tell you when I've finished the second one... or maybe the third, just to be absolutely sure it wasn't a fluke...

  1. Mac,

To a native of Krispy Kreme's home state (and who's visited the original shop), there's nothing better than a hot, original glazed doughnut. No chocolate, no powdered sugar, no filling.

But the chocolate dreamcake does sound good...

  2. Unfortunately, the shop at Bluewater insists on handing out (free) the original glazed ring doughnuts to anyone standing in line when they're being made...

...so I was forced to eat one while waiting to be served...

It made a nice counterpoint to the chocolate dreamcake...

  4. I am sure it was a dreadful sacrifice, to eat the hot original doughnut whilst waiting to sample the chocolate dreamcake. Good for you for 'taking one for the team' like that! ;-)

  6. Ah yes, North Carolina's contribution to the clogging of arteries.

    Enjoy.

I'd love to see if they taste the same as they do here.

  10. Kasia - I'm ready to make that supreme sacrifice... in the interests of good blog posting, you understand!

Histor, drooling on keyboards is strongly discouraged... it makes the keys all sticky.

Sorry Jackie! I guess I'll eat yours. More self-sacrifice!

Fr. Dwight, I never said that. I just have a thing about spelling!

Jeffrey, I'm not so fond of the cream - I'm more a patisserie custard girl - but if you really insist...
    ;-)
