"Truly, it is the indescribable sweetness of contemplation which you give to those who love you. In this you have shown the tenderness of your charity, that when I had no being you made me; and when I strayed away from you, you brought me back again to serve you and commanded me to love you." Further Thoughts on Inclusive Language
I liked Fr Tim's cartoon, but was tempted to see what else was out there as a way of making my thoughts and feelings known...
Wonderful! Microsoft's evil paperclip reincarnates as a politically-correct liturgist!
I was on a 'Diversity course' at work recently, where I argued until I was blue in the face that 'man' in 'man-hours' and 'manning levels' meant a human, and was not sexist! Still, no-one agreed!
According to Peter Kreeft, "humanity" is NOT a replacement for "man" or "mankind" - "humanity" is a condition; "man" is a group.
ReplyDeleteI like the paperclip cartoon!
Of course, that's because I'm a foul woman-oppressor ;D
In my experience, foul women should be oppressed!!
ReplyDeleteReforming language in the Catholic Church! whatever next?
