Archbishop Nichols wore this jeweled cross at all the installation ceremonies.xiucaihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07135930322845084663noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28018475.post-51277505132530423622009-05-22T15:01:09.790+01:002009-05-22T15:01:09.790+01:00"My one gripe was that the "Sign of Peace" was inc..."My one gripe was that the "Sign of Peace" was included - it was a touchy-feely fest for the congregation, and even the priests concelebrating had a bit of a mill-around"<br /><br />Mill around with style and you could take a resetroom break with no one the wiser.gemoftheoceanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05521207668262592414noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28018475.post-69014783383119591972009-05-22T00:30:35.044+01:002009-05-22T00:30:35.044+01:00The morse reminds me of the shape of cross used by...The morse reminds me of the shape of cross used by the archdiocese of Canterbury...perhaps someone was thinking about its historical importance while designing such a gaudy instrument!Colonel Mustardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11602937152926231185noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28018475.post-61119033923580733672009-05-22T00:00:47.460+01:002009-05-22T00:00:47.460+01:00It was the tea trays that bothered me.It was the tea trays that bothered me.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28018475.post-38166794867926104402009-05-21T23:46:15.220+01:002009-05-21T23:46:15.220+01:00Point taken... This particular morse is, I believe, one of the treasures of Westminster Cathedral and would only be used on major occasiosn.<br /><br />The pectoral cross is hidden behind the morse.Monicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08205355672117624212noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28018475.post-92018710035758640742009-05-21T18:03:20.845+01:002009-05-21T18:03:20.845+01:00Pectoral cross? It sounded as though he was laying down a tentative programme and a bit of a gauntlet. Strangely this comes over better when one heard the sermon rather than when one reads it. It's also evident, I think, that Nichols is religious.Let us hope and pray that he is also courageous.Katiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17065883840232682462noreply@blogger.com
